We are on the eel coast. Evening walk, the water is 17 degrees and the waves are slowly rolling in. These 4 min exposures show a soft sea, the light to the east produces a metallic colour. Something that has not come through as strong tonight, maybe I got there too late. Next time…..

Sunday has arrived we were out on Hållö. Not a sound from a car engine, just the peaceful swishing from the wind and sea.

We won 1/2kg of fresh prawns at the raffle on Smögen jetty. They tasted good, but we were not the only ones to have enjoyed the winnings.

Sunset photos taken along a walk on the jetty into Kungshamn harbour tonight. The colours are ever changing, and so are the amazing views. People are in true summer holiday spirt, the fancy boats are out, restaurants are full. These two shots are taken from the same spot, looking right towards the bridge and Sandö looking left towards Kungshamn harbour. Can’t wait to get out onto Hållö on Sunday! Photos will follow

Its great to be here again in Kungshamn again. I don’t get to do this run every day……its out on Sandön, a long stretch of rock that curves out into the sea.
Every time I go there are new colours amongst the rocks, the place is constantly changing. The water lillys in the ponds should be out when we are here next

I am slowly taking ‘flash’ off my website, but the changes may have stopped you from viewing the photographs in the portfolio sections. This has now been fixed, the galleries are up and running again.
Here are some photos of original 1960′s hand printed wallpapers. Each pattern within the print is slightly different, some areas have more ink than others, parts of colour overlap differ, this creates depth, and is missing from the mass produced flat versions of today. The methods used to create these wallpapers is back in fashion now, the craft is slowly winning over the mass produced.
Are we making a full circle and coming back to traditional bespoke methods, I hope so.

The pottery at Wallåkra Stenkärlsfabrik displayed the traditional craft of pot making to all. We arrived on a good day, as the kiln was being emptied after having cooled for 3 weeks. Upstairs are the potter workshops, traditional tools and manual methods still in use today all combine to produce an authentic truly handmade pot, a work of art which started from deep within the ground, later dug up and shaped by human hands producing many years of practical use.
Today the rains are here at last, and we wait for the coming thunder to clear the air. Although it will be short lived, as tomorrow will be another bright and sunny day.

Today was a little too hot inland again, so we decided to venture out to catch the sea breeze. We found a nice little spot at Barsebäcks. The water in the bays in this part of Skåne is low so we set up camp on a little sandy island. The first picture is a 21 second exposure, its softness is a result of the motion of the sea and the camera sinking into the soft sand, the tonal effect is almost painterly.

Pictures from the botanical garden and the city centre, we sorted out our big planter with flowers from the botanical garden. Its nice to know they are locally grown in an ecological way. The duck came to say hello, pinch a few crumbs and show us proudly his golden sticker

Here around the Gärdet area in Lund all the roses are blooming at full strength. The streets are lined with their colours. The cobbles, the bricks, detailing in the window frames, are all brought together by the big rose bushes.

Lomma beach today, we enjoyed a perfect combination of Sea, Sand and Strawberries. Plus, people thinned out once it got close to World cup kickoff time. More room for the lucky ones that decided to stay

This 2 week Nightwatchman event starts off with a trumpet call, (which last night was a Vuvuzela) calling the city into music. Great high energy gypsy-jazz music from “Klezmer meets Roma” on the roof of the Stadshallen.

Photos from this evenings trip to Vikhög for a nice sandwich and dive in the sea. Vikhög is just on the edge of Lomma bay and offers great seas over the Öresund and towards the bridge.
The colours at this time of year are really stunning, fresh greens in the wheat fields punchered by whites, purples and reds of the wild flowers all contrasting with the deep blues of the sky and sea.

It was a beautiful evening at the west harbour in Malmö. I sat my camera down pointing at the setting sun. There were a few groups of people also present that enjoyed posing in front of the sun set. This image is a long exposure of 90 seconds that captures the people milling around and posing for their group shots. The 2 dark figures are a couple sitting still and talking. Photography captures a tiny slice of time, this long exposure technique has made that slice a little bit larger. If you look closely, you can also see the 90 second sweeping arc of the setting sun.
After a long and hard winter, sweden is displaying its colours of spring. A selection of photos from around the botanical gardens, streets of the city and forest just outside.

It was a fabulous day today, perfect for some pictures in a garden. Your pet is most relaxed in its most familiar environment.
A Simple, effective setup with one off camera flash and the sun. The flash is used as the key light, with the sun filling in. This produces a dark clutter free background to the image.

Not sure if this is the best way to keep warm.
On walk about at Nottingham Uni, the frozen lake added a new perspective .
Christmas time at Lund Cathedral, the benches are removed to reveal a lovely empty silent space.
I helped Beeston Jones, a Nottingham based manufacturer of play equipment and art for schools, to bring this project to fabrication. The art work is 3m in diameter. Drawings were required for assembly of all the components and for CNC cutting.
